Nairobi layover tour questions

Can I leave JKIA on a Nairobi layover?

Often yes, but it depends on your passport and ticket. To leave the airport you must enter Kenya, which normally means an approved Kenya eTA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) or an exemption for your nationality. Rules change, so check the current requirements for your passport on the official site, etakenya.go.ke, and apply well before you travel. Our tour does not include the eTA.

How many hours do I need for a Nairobi stopover tour?

Our tours run from 3 to 10 hours. Add time for immigration on arrival and for check-in and security before your next flight. Send us your arrival and departure times and we will tell you honestly what fits.

What are the best things to do in Nairobi on a layover?

The favourites are a game drive in Nairobi National Park, feeding giraffes at the Giraffe Centre, Karura Forest, a skyline viewpoint and the craft markets. The 5- and 6-hour tours can fit both the park and the Giraffe Centre if opening times line up; 7 hours and up adds city sightseeing.

How much does a Nairobi layover tour cost?

Prices are per person and depend on the tour length and your group size: from USD 48.53 per person (6 guests, 3-hour express) up to USD 471.86 for one traveller on the 10-hour tour. The booking box shows the exact total. These are the same prices as on our Viator listings.

What is included?

What is the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your tour starts, with a full refund. No refund for cancellations less than 24 hours before the start, or for no-shows. Bookings made on Viator follow Viator's own policy.

Are wildlife sightings guaranteed?

No. Nairobi National Park is a real wild park, so what you see changes from day to day. Your guide knows where to look.
